S P Kashyap was elected UP state secretary of the CPI(M) after the two day meeting of the state committee in Lucknow on July 14-15, 2004. The unanimous election took place due to the vacancy caused by the death former secretary Ram Sumer Yadav.
The
state committee further decided to start a rigorous campaign statewide on the
law and order situation, on the electricity prices, proper public distribution
system, and land for dalits. District wise programmes
have been finalised. (INN)
