Vietnam CP Delegation Meets CPI(M) Leaders
ON
June 29, a five member delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam
(CPVN) visited the CPI(M) Central Committee office at New Delhi and held
discussions with Polit Bureau member Prakash Karat and Central Committee member
Hari Singh Kang. The delegation, headed by
Nguyen Huy Quang, vice chairman of the Commission for External Relations
(CER) of the CPVN Central Committee (CC), included
Nguyen Hoanh Son, director General of the South East Asia-South
Asia-South Pacific Department (SEA-SA-SPD) of the CER.
The
extensive discussion that took place between the CPVN and CPI(M) leaders covered
political developments in India,
international situation and issues of interest for both the parties. These
discussions continued the next day.
It is understood that, broadly speaking, both the parties had a common view on international developments. They also discussed in detail the progress being made in Vietnam with the policies of ‘renewal’ in economic sphere. (INN)
