VIETNAMESE CP DELEGATION

VISTS CPI(M) OFFICE

 

 

 

A NINE member delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), headed by the deputy chief of the Party Central Committee, Hoang Thanh Khiet, visited the CPI(M) headquarters, AKG Bhavan, in New Delhi on February 25.

 

The delegation was received by CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, Sitaram Yechury, and Central Committee member, Hari Singh Kang. Both the parties leaders exchanged views on the situation in their countries and on the prevailing international situation.

 

The Vietnamese delegation pointed out that they were all set to implement the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the Party. They said that targets have been fixed for eradication of poverty by 2010 and noted how diplomatic ties with foreign countries are on the upswing and education for all in the primary sector has become a reality. It was also pointed out that from being importer of rice, the country has now become an exporter.

 

The other members of the Vietnamese delegation were Ngo Van Thang, Dinh Thanh Ben, Tran Thi Ngoc Lan, Huynh Thi Binh, Ngo Huu Minh, Phan Tung Mau, Nham Van Duy and Nguyen Van Dat.
