Kisan Sabha Holds School For Cadres

 

THE Bihar State Kisan Sabha organised a school for kisan cadres at Gaya from November 9 to -11, 2003. Over 200 cadres from 28 districts attended this school.

 

While inaugurating this school, AIKS general secretary K Varadha Rajan dwelt in detail on the present scenario in agrarian sector, the challenges before the Indian peasantry and the tasks to be implemented. He stressed on strengthening the organisation to meet these challenges.

 

AIKS joint secretary N K Shukla explained in brief the evolution of peasant movement in India, the formation of All India Kisan Sabha and its history.

 

State Kisan Sabha secretary Bejoy Kant Thakur dealt with the history of peasant movement in Bihar, the different deviations, the organisation’s interventions, its sacrifices, and the present situation in the state.

 

Another AIKS joint secretary Ashok Dhawale dealt with the disastrous effects of LPG policies on our agriculture and the alternative the AIKS proposes to these policies.

 

A mass meeting was also held on the first day itself, with Ravinder Singh in the chair. (INN)
