CPI(M) Greets Second Session of PDS Congress

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) sent on October 23, 2003, the following message of greetings to the Central Committee of the Party of Democratic Socialism (Germany) on the occasion of the second session of the party’s eighth congress.

Dear Comrades,

THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) conveys its warm fraternal greetings to the Party of Democratic Socialism on the occasion of the Second Session of its Eighth Party Congress.

Unfortunately, much as we have desired, we are unable to send a representative due to certain sudden developments in India. 

Your session is being held at a critical juncture in world politics. The military occupation of Iraq reconfirms, if such reconfirmation was ever necessary, that US imperialism is intensifying all efforts to impose its comprehensive global hegemony. We are aware of the big protests that the German people and the PDS have held against US imperialism. We are confident that at this session, you will deliberate and decide on crucial matters concerning international solidarity as well as the measures to strengthen the PDS links with the German people.

We wish the deliberations of this session all success.
