CITU Secretariat Condemns Move

The CITU secretariat in a statement issued on June 12 has decried the backdoor moves of the central government to kick off labour law changes and appealed to all trade unions to jointly resist such pernicious attempts.

The CITU condemned this stance of the ministry and said it was nothing but a push ahead for labour law changes to usher in ‘hire and fire’ regime at the state-level, even while the dialogue process is professedly on. It is not clearly known whether the centre had mooted similar proposals with the other states as well.

The CITU secretariat has called upon the workers in the state of Andhra Pradesh to remain vigilant against and defeat any move by the state government to amend the labour laws in the light of the ‘options’ expressed by the central government.
