THE
Dhanbad district committee of CPI(M) in Jharkhand has collected Rs 50,000 worth
of medicines and Rs 4000 in cash for the purchase of medicines as a small token
of contribution to the suffering people of Iraq due to the US-UK combine’s
aggression on Iraq. The cash and medicines were handed over to the party’s
Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury in a recent hall meeting at Dhandbad. A
large number of people and press representatives attended the meeting that was
presided over by veteran trade union leader of coal workers, S K Bakshi.
Receiving the cash and medicines from the CPI(M) district secretary G K Bakshi,
Sitaram Yechury appreciated the contribution and said it was an expression of
solidarity of India’s working people with the suffering people, including
children and women, of Iraq. (DDR)
