Medicine For The People Of Iraq

THE Dhanbad district committee of CPI(M) in Jharkhand has collected Rs 50,000 worth of medicines and Rs 4000 in cash for the purchase of medicines as a small token of contribution to the suffering people of Iraq due to the US-UK combine’s aggression on Iraq. The cash and medicines were handed over to the party’s Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury in a recent hall meeting at Dhandbad. A large number of people and press representatives attended the meeting that was presided over by veteran trade union leader of coal workers, S K Bakshi. Receiving the cash and medicines from the CPI(M) district secretary G K Bakshi, Sitaram Yechury appreciated the contribution and said it was an expression of solidarity of India’s working people with the suffering people, including children and women, of Iraq.
