delegation
from
Manipur
met
with
CPI(M)
Polit
Bureau
members
Sitaram
Yechury
and
S
Ramachandran
Pillai
at
CPI(M)
headquarters
in
New
Delhi
on
January
20.
While
informing
the
delegation
that
the
CPI(M)
welcomes
talks
with
the
NSCN(IM)
to
resolve
the
decades-old
problem
of
Naga
militancy,
it
reiterated
the
earlier
position
that
in
arriving
at
any
agreement
with
the
NSCN(IM),
the
government
of
India
should
not
disturb
the
existing
territorial
integrity
of
the
north-eastern
states.
Any
attempt
to
do
this
will
have
serious
consequences
for
peace
and
stability
in
the
entire
north-eastern
region.
The
CPI(M)
informed
the
delegation
that
it
had
sought
an
all-party
meeting,
with
the
presence
of
all
the
parties
in
the
north-east,
to
build
consensus
before
any
final
agreement
with
the
NSCN(IM)
is
arrived
at.
