HOW
much prime land in Delhi has, slowly and in a planned manner, gone to the BJP,
RSS,VHP and their overt and covert organisations? Is this not a part of a much
larger agenda if land estimated at Rs 450 crore goes for a song?
Adding
its own details to the land scam spotlighted in some papers, the Delhi state
unit of the CPI(M) commented that the cornering of major chunks of land by the
frontal organisations of the RSS is a scam of massive dimensions. The issue is
not one of legitimate use of land meant for institutional purposes but of
cornering prime property worth hundreds of crores in Rouse Avenue, Vasant Vihar
and other such locations.
The
Delhi state CPI(M) opined that the land scam of more than Rs 450 crore is part
of a much larger agenda. While the rich and well-connected are out to corner all
the vital lands in the city, the poorer sections who provide vital services and
the industries that provide employment in the city are being thrown to the
outskirts and even beyond. The net result is that 60 per cent of Delhi’s
people are restricted to only 8 per cent of its land, while land mafia is busy
grabbing the land earmarked for them.
“We
demand the cancellation of all such land allocations made in Delhi,” Delhi
state CPI(M) secretary P M S Grewal told the press on September 5.
