Suseela Gopalan Remembered

A JAMPACKED gathering at the Constitution Club in Delhi warmly remembered CPI(M) leader and parliamentarian, Suseela Gopalan on her first death anniversary on December 19. The function was chaired by veteran freedom fighter and INA legend Captain Lakshmi Sahgal.

Speakers at the meeting included CPI(M) general secretary  Harkishen Singh Surjeet, Polit Bureau  member, Prakash Karat, AIDWA general secretary Brinda Karat and others.

All the speakers called for a concerted battle against the communal right wing offensive launched by the RSS combine, intensification of the fight for women’s equality and for raising peoples issues inside and outside the Parliament as shown by Suseela Gopalan. This, it was stated, would be the best tribute to her.

The function was organised by the Janawadi Mahila Samiti. It may be recalled Suseela Gopalan had been the founder general secretary of the AIDWA.
