NPMO Calls For Protest Actions, March 2

HELD at New Delhi on February 19 and attended by more than 3,000 delegates, a national convention of the National Platform of Mass Organisations (NPMO) has called for organisation of protest actions all over the country on March 2. The NPMO, a platform of 56 organisations of various classes and sections of Indian people, has urged the people to protest the forthcoming anti-people budget, whose grievous indications are already evident, by organising demonstrations and other actions in all industrial centres, and at all district and state headquarters. It also called for an intensive countrywide campaign against the Vajpayee regime’s anti-national policies and broadest mobilisation of people through state and district level conventions. The campaign is to culminate in a countrywide strike, the preparations for which are already on.
