Big Response In Kerala
AT the call of the Kerala state committee of the CPI(M), the entire party in the state undertook a three-day mass collection of money for the relief and rehabilitation of the Gujarat earthquake victims. On February 5, 6 and 7 all Party units went out amongst the people to collect the money for the fund. Alongwith the mass collection by the Party various mass organisations and institutions have also been collecting money and sending it to the various Deshabhimani editions which are receiving funds for the purpose.
Upto February 15, Rs 66,74,003 has been received by the six editions of the Deshabhimani in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Trissurm Kozhikode and Kannur. Money collected is still being deposited at the six centres.
This mass collection by the CPI(M) shows the great concern of the people of Kerala for the affected people of Gujarat and is a magnificent act of solidarity. (INN)
