DYFI Celebrates Khudiram’s Birthday

ON December 3 this year the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) celebrated the birth anniversary of Shaheed Khudiram Bose as Anti-Imperialism Day all over the country. The DYFI organised a number of programmes on the day, including one in Mohabani, Shaheed Khudiram Bose’s birthplace in Midnapore district of West Bengal where he was born on December 3, 1889. Another programme was organised in front of the gate of Muzaffarpur Jail in Bihar where he was hanged on August 11, 1908.

Khudiram Bose, a valiant martyr for the sake of India’s freedom, gladly went to the gallows while fighting British imperialism.

The organisation said today when imperialist attacks are intensifying the world over, Shaheed Khudiram’s martyrdom is a source of inspiration for all the people who believe in the ideals of patriotism and anti-imperialism and who are joining the anti-imperialist struggles in large numbers. Today it has become imperative to take Khudiram’s ideals to an ever widening circle of youth in the country. This was what prompted the DYFI to celebrate December 3 as Anti-Imperialism Day all over the country.

The DYFI had earlier appealed to all patriotic people of the country to joint this celebration in large numbers. (INN)
