Comrade S K Mishra, who had been actively associated with the editorial department of People’s Democracy, was born at Ferozabad (Uttar Pradesh) in July 1933. He retired from Delhi University after a long stint in teaching, when he played an active role in the Left oriented teachers movement. Then he joined the editorial department of People’s Democracy in 2001.

Dr Mishra was one of the rare economists who have equal control over English and Hindi, and he wrote several highly appreciated and warmly received books of economic in both languages.
