CPI(M)’s Solidarity With Victims of Norway Attacks

Prakash Karat, general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) sent a message to Raymond Johansen, secretary general, Labour Party, Norway on July 27, 2011 regarding the horrific attack in Utoya Island and the bomb blast in Oslo. Below is the text of the message.

WE are deeply shocked and grieved at the horrific attack in Utoya Island and the bomb blast in Oslo which have led to the senseless deaths of so many people.

The killings of so many young people who were members of the Workers Youth League (AUF) is a terrible tragedy for the people of Norway. They became the targets of a rightwing psychotic killer.

On behalf of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and its one million members, we convey our heartfelt sympathy to the families of all those who have suffered this grievous loss. We express our solidarity with you in this hour of grief.
