Vietnamese Delegation Visits AKG Bhawan

 

A ten-member delegation led by Hyunh Ngoc Son, vice chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam visited the CPI(M) Party headquarters on June 1, 2011 and had discussions on the recent developments in both the countries. Son explained the decisions of the recently held 11th party congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and also the elections to the National Assembly. Reiterating support for India's bid to become the permanent member of the UN Security Council, he recalled the traditional bonds of friendship between India and Vietnam.

 

Sitaram Yechury, Polit Bureau member and Head of the International Department of the Party, welcoming the delegation to the country and the Party office, explained about the impact of neo-liberal policies on the people and the growing income inequalities in the country. He also recalled the bonds of friendship between the people of both the countries and the solidarity movement of Indian people during the Vietnamese war and expressed hope that these bonds  would be further strengthened in the coming days.

 

The delegation is on a three-day visit to the country.
