Theekkathir Gets Multicolour Web Offset

IT is yet another mile stone in the long journey of the Tamil Daily, Theekkathir.

 

The Chennai edition of the official organ of the Tamilnadu state committee of the CPI(M), has added a new multicolour-web offset to its machinery on May 8. At a simple function in the premises of the Theekkathir office at Saidapet, K Varadharajan, Polit Bureau member of the CPI(M) inaugurated the new machinery.

 

N Sankariah, chairman of the Party Control Commission, G Ramakrishnan, state secretary, N Varadharajan and T K Rangarajan, Central Committee members spoke at the meeting.  CPI(M) state secretariat member MNS Venkattaraman, Theekkathir chief general manager N Srinivasan,  editor V Parameswaran, joint-editor S P Agasthiyalingam, advertisement general manager Udayakumar, Marxist (Tamil) editor V Meenakshisundaram and Semmalar editor S A Perumal and  party secretaries of northern districts participated in the meeting. Chennai edition general manager C Kalyanasundaram proposed the  vote of thanks.

 

N Sankariah called upon the Party members to read the paper and educate their own family members and relatives about the paper's importance. He said Theekkathir, a weapon of working class people in Tamilnadu should reach the door steps of each and every worker.

 

With a revolutionary history of half a century, Theekkathir is going to celebrate the 50th golden jubilee next year. Its production, with four editions at  Madurai, Chennai, Coimbatore and Tiruchy will be helped further by the addition of new technology.
