Attack on J&K CPI(M) Workers Condemned

IN a statement issued from Srinagar on January 30, the CPI(M)s Jammu and Kashmir state  secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami strongly condemned the attack on two CPI(M) supporters on January 28 in Kulgam. Tarigami said the vicious cycle of terror and counter terror would not yield anything except further deterioration in the law and order situation in the state and add to the miseries of the people of Kashmir.

The CPI(M) leader was also of the opinion that killing of innocents cannot be justified by any civilised society.

In context with the attack on CPI(M) activists, he said, Such criminal acts will not deter those who are committed to pursue the path of dignified peace and reconciliation and these acts will only isolate those who have the vested interest in the present ongoing uncertainty in the state.

Expressing solidarity with the families of the two injured comrades, he asked both mainstream as well as separatist parties to evolve a common ground in order to put an end to violence against the unarmed and uninvolved civilians. (INN)
