Yechury To Attend Nepal PM's Swearing-In

WITH the victory achieved by the people of Nepal, the seven party alliance of political parties is set to form a government as we go to press. The government to be headed by veteran Nepali Congress leader Girija Prasad Koirala will take office on April 28, 2006 as part of a first step of restoration of democracy in Nepal. The revived parliament is widely expected to take steps for formation of a constituent assembly on its first sitting day.

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury is leaving to Kathmandu to attend the swearing-in-ceremony of Girija Prasad Koirala as the prime minister on April 28. He has been invited both by the seven party alliance and Koirala. (INN)
