         DYFI Observed Che Guevara’s 76th Birth Anniversary

 

The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) had observed legendary revolutionary Che Quevara’s 76th birth anniversary yesterday. Main programme was organised in New Delhi at DYFI’s central office.

 

Comrade Prakash Karat delivered a talk on ‘Che and the struggle for Socialism today”. He emphasised the role of Che’s revolutionary ideology and its immense contribution in struggle for socialism. He said that Che’s ideas are significant even today for the building of a socialist consciousness. Even after so many years of his martyrdom the importance of the idea of internationalism in the arena of socialist revolution continue to inspire the youth world over against the menace of imperialism and capitalism.

 

Karat expressed his happiness and confidence that DYFI is carrying forward the legacy and message of Che.

 

The DYFI general secretary Tapas Sinha welcome the guest speaker Prakash Karat and other leaders of the mass movement – Brinda Karat, K Vardharajan and Kallol Roy.  Speaking on the occasion Tapas Sinha said that DYFI should follow the revolutionary footsteps of Che.

 

Jan Natya Manch staged a street play titled Jab Woh Bol Uthi on this occasion. The programme was chaired by DYFI secretary Pushpender Tyagi. (INN)
