RADHIKARANJAN PRAMANICK EXPELLED

B Prasant

Radhikaranjan Pramanick, CPI(M) MP, was expelled from the Party under Article 19-13 of the Party Constitution.  The Lok Sabha speaker has been written to by the CPI(M) to press the demand for the disqualification of Pramanick’s membership to the Parliament.

Apprising the media of the decision of the state secretariat of the Bengal unit of the CPI (M) to expel Pramanick, state secretary Anil Biswas said that Pramanick was involved in anti-Party activities for a long period.  He had kept in close touch with the Trinamul Congress.  He had also opposed the ideology, programme and policies of the CPI(M) in open meetings and in press conferences.

Pramanick was first issued a show cause notice, and then charge-sheeted.  He never desisted from organising machinations against the Party.  Finally, under Article 19-13 of the Party Constitution, Pramanick was expelled from the CPI(M).  Pramanick has decamped with some important Party documents

CPI(M) MP, Rupchand Pal has written to Lok Sabha speaker, Manohar Joshi calling for Pramanick’s disqualification from Parliament. Anil Biswas commented to say that had Pramanick the least amount of morality, he would have himself resigned as an MP.
