IDBI Employees To Oppose Corporatisation

ON the advice of the Industrial Development Bank of India management, the government of India is proposing to corporatise the IDBI by repealing the IDBI Act, most probably through an ordinance. But the central executive committee of the All India Industrial Development Bank Employees Association (AIIDBEA) has decided to oppose the government-bank combine’s move tooth and nail and has, as the first phase of its agitation, chalked out the following programme of action.

September 30: Gate Meeting

October 4: Badge-wearing

October 8-10: Memorandum signed by members to be submitted to finance minister, and its copy to be sent to the IDBI chairman in Mumbai

October 17-18: Mass postering

October 21: Executive committee’s deputation to the IDBI chairman/incharge

October 23: Lunch-time gate demonstration

October 25: Mass deputation to IDBI chairman/incharges of zonal/branch offices

The AIIDBEA will chalk out the next phase of its agitation later.
